FOOT APPLICATION
1. Plug the ALP® 501 pump into a suitable 110 VAC electrical outlet. DO NOT TURN THE PUMP ON AT THIS TIME.
2. If not already connected, connect the tubing set to the two outlets on the pump ensuring that a click is heard from the snaplock connectors. FOR SINGLE LIMB OPTION USE: If only one leg is to be compressed in the surgical procedure, simply disconnect either tubing at the pump site leaving the other tubing connected. The ALP® tubing is not to be disposed. The foot devices are the only disposable part of the system. Also, Do Not Remove the plastic tubing locking connectors from the tubing or pump tubing outlets.
3. Remove the ALP® Calf, Thigh, & PVA/ALP® Foot devices from the packaging. All ALP® devices may be used on either limb. NOTE: PVA/ALP® foot devices are universally sized. There is no right or left. Follow the instructions printed on each of the garments as well as the instructions on the product label and any pictorial instructions.Large sizes are available (if supplied) to fit sizes up to 12EEE in the foot, 30” calf, and 42” thigh.
4. Connect the snaplock connection tubing to either of the calf or thigh devices by pushing the connectors firmly together until the connectors click. To remove the connectors, press the button on the female end of the connector while simultaneously pulling on the male end. If longer tubing is needed, two (2) lengths of standard 5 foot tubing can be connected together or the tubing is available in longer sizes.
5. Turn the pump on. The green ON/OFF switch should be illuminated.
